Backed by EyUp! funding, the Barnsley integrated community stroke team brought carers of stroke survivors together for support sessions to help them access help and advice.
More than 25 families attended the events held in Goldthorpe and Penistone, where they received guidance on benefits they may be entitled to, and several signed up with the Barnsley carers service to stay updated with further information.
Feedback from the sessions has been extremely positive, with carers commenting that they felt more supported and enjoyed meeting others in similar situations.
