Children and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS), future in mind mental health support team (MHST)
EyUp! funding helped purchase arts and crafts for creativity sessions for children and young people at Wakefield schools .
The CAMHS team applied for £300 of funding to buy craft materials to use in their sessions to provide more of a variety for the young people who attend. The additional craft materials have helped boost mood and wellbeing, and act as a reminder of their creative activity by being able to take creations home with them.
Charlotte Hoult, CAMHS, future in mind MHST said “Being creative can improve people’s mental health and wellbeing. The funding has meant we can offer more craft sessions, which the young people have thoroughly enjoyed. We have had lots of feedback about how beneficial the sessions are now that we have more resources to do more fun activities with.”
