Michael Steel ran the York 10k on August 6 2023 raising over £180 for EyUp!

Michael works at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust as part of the stores and distribution team as a driver. Since joining the Trust, he has seen the difference that the work of EyUp! makes to staff and service users and wanted to help raise money by running the York 10k.

Over the past few years, he has become a frequent runner and takes part in races to help raise money in loving memory of his nephew, Daniel.

Thousands of runners take part in the 10k every year. The route takes you past the historic landmarks in York including the ancient city walls, Clifford’s Tower and the minster.

Michael said: “I have raised money for several charities in the past, however, I have seen the fantastic work that EyUp! do and the difference they make to their local communities. I saw the York 10k as a great opportunity to raise money. The atmosphere was incredible, there is nothing like hearing the cheers as you are running past.”
