Fundraising activities to mark the 75th birthday of the NHS has raised over £3,000 for EyUp! which will be used to fund projects which will make a difference to our staff and service users.

Our fundraising team hosted NHS Big Tea events in Kendray and Fieldhead canteen for staff members to enjoy cakes, tea and coffee with colleagues. Teams in Calderdale and Kirklees community mental health services and the quality improvement and assurance team (QIAT) also joined in the Big Tea and held cake sales in their areas to celebrate and raise money for the charity.

The supermarket Morrisons sponsored the NHS Big Tea, and our team partnered with community champions at the local Morrisons stores to raise awareness about the charity and collect donations instore from members’ of the public.

The fundraising didn’t stop there, EyUp! encouraged people to raise money by walking, running or cycling 75 miles throughout June and July. Mike Ford, a non executive director at the Trust took on the challenge and walked the length of Hadrian’s wall with his son.

Since 5 July 1948, the NHS has provided healthcare services to people in the UK. The 75th birthday was an opportunity to appreciate and thank all the staff for their hard work and achievements over the years.
