Barnsley physical health and wellbeing care group were awarded £300 from EyUp! to supply community first aid boxes in Barnsley.

Teams collaborated with colleagues from Barnsley Public Health’s Stronger, Safer, Healthier team to distribute 50 first aid boxes and mental health leaflet packs throughout the community. These first aid boxes were allocated to the six area teams across the borough, who then donated them to local volunteer groups. This initiative helped provide local Barnsley groups with essential medical supplies and promote mental health awareness.

Trudy Warner, operational support officer, community services management team said “We previously distributed first aid boxes during Covid to support families in accessing essential first aid supplies.

“Thanks to EyUp! charity we have been able to provide vital resources and equipment to local groups who cannot finance these themselves. These boxes help people to treat minor injuries at home and help reduce unnecessary visits to busy A&E departments.”
