Service users and staff have been busy creating a relaxing garden space to enjoy in the warmer months.

EyUp! awarded over £250 to the team at Bronte Ward, Newton Lodge, Fieldhead Hospital to purchase seeds, plants and bean bags to renovate their outdoor space.

The courtyard was lacking colour and had become overgrown, so people weren’t spending as much time outside as they would have liked. However, with the funding from EyUp! staff and service users have worked together to  tidy, weed and plant to make the most out of this area. They have also added a badminton net, colourful beanbags and painted wooden benches to breathe a new lease of life into the space.

Natalie Hodgson, senior health care support worker on Bronte Ward commented “The outdoor space has seen a massive improvement.  It is a more pleasant place to sit when the plants are in full bloom. Both staff and service users have benefitted from this project, and they are so pleased with what they have achieved.”
