EyUp! awarded over £8500 to Newton Lodge to buy gym equipment for their service user gym, helping to support individuals in their recovery.
Thanks to the EyUp! funding, the team at Newton Lodge has been able to order a variety of gym equipment, including a leg press machine, seated rowing machine, chest press, shoulder press, and more.
The upgraded gym equipment at Newton Lodge has provided significant benefits to service users across all seven wards, offering a broader range of exercises and allowing them to target more muscle groups during their workouts. With the new equipment, users will have the opportunity to enhance their fitness routines and gain confidence in utilising the gym’s resources.
This improvement not only supports physical well-being but also encourages a sense of accomplishment and self-assurance, empowering service users to take an active role in their fitness journey.
Danielle Benn, Hepworth ward manager, South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust said “It was truly rewarding to see the excitement on the service users faces when the new gym equipment arrived.
“Their feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with noticeable improvements in attendance and greater engagement throughout their sessions. Staff have already observed a significant boost in mood and motivation from those who regularly attend.”
