EyUp! funded a seating area and planters for the Lundwood Health Centre in Barnsley to create a relaxing space for people visiting the centre to enjoy.
Originally the funding was to purchase benches for a seated area outside. However, the team wanted to make the space more vibrant by adding flowers and fruit and vegetable plants.
The garden is for staff and service users to enjoy in the sunshine, whether that be to have their dinner, for meetings or to take some time out to recharge outside.
Jill Jinks, general manager at Lundwood Health Centre commented “We are really pleased with how it has turned out. It’s lovely to see the garden being enjoyed and people using it to relax.”
Daniel Rowett, lead nurse at Lundwood Health Centre said “The new garden area has provided space to reflect, recompose, have lunch, and a space away from our busy office which has been useful when taking our breaks. It has been great to see the garden grow over the summer. I hope it is there for many more to come!”.
