Stainborough Rotary Club, Trust staff, Barnsley impact social prescribing team, and volunteers and service users from the Barnsley physical health and wellbeing team took part in an incredible 33 mile bike ride to raise money for EyUp!
On Monday 19 May 2025, 46 riders took part in the bike ride that started from Kendray Hospital in Barnsley cycling to Fieldhead Hospital in Wakefield. Riders stopped off at Fieldhead to enjoy a packed lunch provided by the Trust catering team, Morrisons Dewsbury Road Wakefield, and Premier Foods Barnsley before heading back to the finish line at Kendray Hospital.
Back at Kendray Hospital, Adele Fox, chief operating officer, presented riders with their medal and certificate at a dedicated event ceremony to congratulate and thank people for taking part in such an inspirational event.
Jana Hartley, fundraising manager for EyUp! said “It’s great to see everybody come together to raise money for our fantastic Trust charity, EyUp!. Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to those who donated and helped organise such a great event.
“The funds raised will go towards making a difference to our community, mental health, wellbeing and learning disability services in Barnsley, Wakefield, Calderdale and Kirklees.”
Stephen Woodcock from Stainborough Rotary club commented “We had a great time taking part and thankfully the sun was shining whilst we were cycling. We were delighted to support EyUp! on this bike ride for a third year.”
