Volunteers with their certificates after completing the bike ride.

Stainborough Rotary Club, Trust staff, volunteers and service users from the Barnsley physical health and wellbeing team took part in an incredible 33 mile bike ride to raise money for EyUp!

On Monday 20 May 2024, 29 people took part in the bike ride that started from Kendray Hospital in Barnsley cycling to Fieldhead Hospital in Wakefield. Riders stopped off at Fieldhead for a much needed rest, where they enjoyed a packed lunch provided by the Trust catering team before heading back to the finish line at Kendray Hospital.

Back at Kendray Hospital, Mark Brooks, chief executive, presented riders with their medal and certificate at a dedicated event ceremony to congratulate and thank people for taking part in such an inspirational event.

Mark said “It’s great to see everybody in good spirits come together to take part in the bike ride in support of the fantastic work of our EyUp! charity. Well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to those who donated and helped organise such a wonderful event.”

Stephen Woodcock from Stainborough Rotary club commented “We had a great time taking part and we were delighted to support EyUp! on this bike ride for a second year. We are already looking forward to planning the third ‘On Yer Bike’ fundraiser in 2025 so look out for how you can take part or donate”.
